With a transfer time of 90 minutes from Rovaniemi, its accessibility and its incredible setting within the national park make Luosto a great choice of location for your Santa break, offering an abundance of dense pine forests and dramatic panoramas that will take your breath away.
Luosto is home to Europe’s only Amethyst mine which can be found at the top of Lampivaara Hill, just outside Luosto and close to the main highway linking the two resorts. The Amethyst mine is one of the few gem mines in the world that allows visitors to dig for their own semi-precious stones.
It is hard to imagine anywhere more beautiful or unspoilt than this amazing region. It is completely understandable why Santa has chosen Lapland as his homeland!
