So imagine them waking up on Christmas morning surrounded by the snow-draped forests, frozen lakes and fells of Santa's own kingdom, deep inside the Arctic Circle. Enjoy the magic of the Davvi Arctic Lodge at Christmas, complete with a visit to the grand old man himself, just before he sets out on his amazing round the world trip. Reindeer, Santa, snowscapes, hospitality and a sense of something special going on ... isn't that what Christmas is all about?

Waking up in Lapland on Christmas Day is only part of your short break with Transun. There is so much more included. From a Husky Experience to a Search for Santa, from a memorable Christmas Dinner to a Snowmobile Adventure, your four-night break is filled with magical experiences. Here is a typical itinerary.

December 23
After you land in Enontekio in Finland you will be guided to your coach. The one-hour journey takes you through the heart of the Sami lands. Watch out for reindeer in the woods! Your all-in-one thermal suits and boots collection will be organised by your representative. After checking in at the Davvi Arctic Lodge, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting and will answer any further questions during dinner. Tonight you can join one of our optional activities, such as a snowmobile night safari, hoping to encounter the Northern Lights. See 'Optional Excursions' for full details.

Christmas Eve
After breakfast, you will be joining your first included Santa Safari - the one hour snowmobile adventure. A warming lunch will then follow. A supervised kids' snowmobile ride will be available (see FAQs for details) or, if you're lucky, a chance to get up close to a friendly reindeer.

Then, the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh and set off In Search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa before he sets off on his annual journey around the world. Each child receives a small gift.

After dinner, relax, or join one of our optional husky night safaris, perhaps in the hope of seeing the Northern Lights.

Christmas Day
After breakfast, you enjoy your second included Santa safari, a 40-minute Husky Experience followed by a warming lunch. Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free. There's even an outdoor ice rink, with skates for youngsters to hire. In preparation for a special Christmas Dinner our arts and crafts class will be running.

After dinner, relax, or join one of our optional night safaris.

Boxing Day
After breakfast, you can join one of our exciting optional excursions such as meeting the husky puppies or going Ice Fishing. After lunch each family will be provided with the materials to decorate a gingerbread house, with a prize for the best. There's also a chance to join a Wilderness Treasure Hunt! This evening, enjoy a walk to the local church, across the border. After a short welcome by the vicar and carols. After dinner, relax, or join an optional night safari.

December 27
Check out after breakfast at 0900hrs, after which the morning is free for one final play in the snow or to join one of our optional excursions. After lunch, you depart for Enontekio and your flight home.
